Posting DetailsPosition Information Position Title Minority, C2C, and Transfer Recruiter Job Description The purpose of the Minority, C2C, Transfer (Special Populations) Recruiter is to recruit and provide dedicated support to specific, diverse student populations at Mississippi Valley State University, including graduate students, transfer students, and participants in the Complete to Compete (C2C) program. This role focuses on creating tailored recruitment strategies, resources, and guidance to support these diverse groups in their academic journey.Accountability:Accountable to the Director of Admissions and Recruitment, Executive Director for Enrollment Management, Vice President for Student Affairs, and the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management.General Statement of Duties:Plan, develop, and coordinate recruitment programs for special populations including graduate students, transfer students, and C2C program participants in collaboration with the Director of Admissions. Conduct targeted outreach efforts to both in-state and out-of-state institutions, community colleges, and organizations supporting non-traditional and returning students. Provide regular updates to the Director on enrollment progress and ensure recruitment goals align with university priorities for inclusivity and growth.Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Schedule recruitment events and maintain engagement with institutions and organizations catering to transfer students, graduate prospects, and C2C participants.
- Conduct appropriate follow-up on all recruitment contacts, ensuring comprehensive support and guidance are provided for application and enrollment processes.
- Report periodically on enrollment metrics for special populations, tracking and analyzing data to assess recruitment effectiveness and inform future outreach strategies.
- Develop specialized resources and informational materials for graduate, transfer, and C2C students to facilitate smooth transitions and access to scholarships, advising, and financial aid.
- Assist in campus tours and individual visits, tailoring experiences to the specific needs and interests of special populations.
- Interview prospective graduate, transfer, and C2C students to understand their goals, identify eligibility, and provide personalized support in the admissions process.
- Organize workshops and information sessions for community college advisors, faculty, and prospective students to enhance awareness of MVSU's offerings and admissions requirements.
- Support planning and execution of recruitment events, including high school day, junior/community college day, and graduate fairs, in coordination with the Admissions Office.
- Conduct tele-counseling activities and follow-up calls, providing dedicated assistance to special population applicants and their families.
- Process applications for all student categories under assigned responsibilities, ensuring accuracy and timely data entry into the Banner system.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Two years' experience in recruitment, admissions, or related field, with experience working with graduate, transfer, or non-traditional student populations beneficial.
- Frequent travel required.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication and relationship-building with a diverse university and community audience.
- Proficiency in understanding university procedures, academic offerings, and admissions requirements for special populations.
- Ability to travel frequently to support recruitment and maintain relationships with external partners.
