Role

We are seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer to analyze, create, and improve the design of software-based systems and user interfaces for high complexity, high consequence systems. The candidate will work in collaborative teams with cognitive scientists, human factors engineers, UI/UX designers, and software development teams. Responsibilities

• Collaborate on multi-disciplinary teams performing human factors research, design and development for complex and high consequence systems
• Develop and analyze operational concepts, including high-level system of systems (SoS) requirements, structure, and behavior, with respect to user needs
• Evaluate technical feasibility of completed graphical user interface (GUI) designs with respect to existing or in-development system architectures
• Lead or contribute within multi-disciplinary teams, accomplishing human factors engineering activities involving representative end-users of systems, cognitive scientists, designers, software developers, and program stakeholders

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• Advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Software Engineering or a closely related field
• Experience in operational concept development, requirements analysis, and architectural design of software-based, human-integrated systems
• Expertise in Systems Modeling Language (SysML), Unified Modeling Language (UML), and/or Service-Oriented Architecture Modeling Language (SOAML)
• Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler to analyze and create model-based systems engineering (MBSE) products
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in, and when needed lead, small multi-disciplinary teams
• Proficiency with MS Office suite and analysis software
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government DOD security clearance as required by DOD government contracts (DOD security clearance requires US citizenship)

Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• 3 or more years of applied industry experience
• Knowledge of Department of the Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
• Experience leading and managing small teams
• Experience planning and conducting user events in operational environments
• Background in UI/UX design
• Occasional travel to user, collaboration and client sites (both domestic and international)

Pay Scale

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and other factors.

$100,000 – $180,000
