  • Repairs all FRP tooling correctly, as defect free as possible in time to deliver to production on time every time.
  • Contributes to a culture of preventative FRP asset maintenance.
  • Maintains accurate list of all FRP assets and their respective lifecycles.
  • Assists in oversight and provides support to downstream departments to ensure molds are delivered to the floor on time to prevent production downtime.
  • Complies with safety, quality, and production requirements and procedures.
  • Immediately notifies Leadership of any issues that would prevent product from being delivered on time, every time.
  • Coordinates with Manager and Idaho counterparts to ensure all projects stay on track.
  • Completes mold service transactions and applicable records.
  • Monitors mold turns and coordinates service needs with scheduling to ensure mold service program has sustained preventative measures in place.
  • Monitors defect reports/KPIs to address new issues timely.
  • Requires multitasking, being self-motivated and prioritizing tasks.
  • Drives the fabrication of new tooling from master patterns with assistance from production staff.
  • Participates and contributes to an environment where continuous improvement is valued and developed.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with coworkers, Leads, Supervisors, and Managers.
  • Meets with Tooling Manager weekly to communicate department progress and develop future strategies.
  • Work overtime as needed to keep necessary projects on track.
  • Ensures accurate reporting is completed daily and weekly.
  • Performs daily and weekly cleaning of work area.
  • Mindful of all aspects of waste; time, materials, and production supplies.
  • Mindful of safety in all aspects of work and takes steps to minimize risks to self and others at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
  • Minimum 3 yrs. fabrication experience (preferably in a manufacturing or autobody setting) working with a wide variety of materials that can include wood, steel, body fillers, sprayable coatings and fiberglass.
  • Fabrication experience with a wide variety of hand and power tools including grinders, DA sanders, buffers etc.
  • Must communicate effectively with leadership.
  • Must be detailed oriented, self-disciplined, and able to complete tasks on time without supervision.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure to a tolerance of 1/32 .
  • Must display an attitude of cooperation and the ability to work well with others.
  • Must be able to perform basic math skills including the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions
  • Must have impeccable attendance and be open minded.
  • Position requires high level of integrity, in the performance of assigned tasks.
  • Position requires standing, bending, pushing and pulling for up to 8-10 hours per day.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, TEAMS, and Outlook.
  • Operates forklift to lower molds and move materials to point of use.
  • Ability to read and follow directions accurately.
  • Able to understand ratios to ensure the correct mixing of resin solutions and ensure that strict quality standards are upheld.
  • Ability to perform basic metal cutting and welding as necessary.
  • Need to be able to work in fast paced environment with constant change.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Adapt well to change.
  • Problem solves and act fast to eliminate down time in sensitive situations.
  • Be able to effectively communicate in times of heightened stress.
  • Have patience with co-workers, subordinates, supervisors, and managers while teaching/learning.
  • Work overtime if needed, including weekends and holidays.
  • Work effectively with frequent interruptions in a team environment as a team player.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Work is performed in a production environment with moderate to high noise levels. The employee in this class is frequently subject to inside and production floor environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • Position requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a fabrication environment to accomplish tasks:
  • Positions requires employee ability to wear respirator/air supplied hood for up to 10 hrs.
  • Potential for exposure to chemicals, solvents, and hazardous equipment, such as electric saws and welding equipment.
  • Frequently works with caustic chemicals and vibrations.
  • Constantly exposed to strong chemical smells and contaminants.
  • Constantly handles power tools
  • In some cases, it may require standing for long periods of time, up to 10 hours and ability to lift up to 120 lbs with assistance.
  • Constantly requires clarity of speech and hearing, which permits the employee to communicate effectively.
  • Constantly requires clear vision to read printed materials and computer screens to accomplish work.
  • Constantly requires repetitive movement of the back, wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • May have to push pull molds to/from/on production floor with weights up to 100 lbs. repeatedly.
