Fathom's extensive certifications include ISO 9001:2015, ISO 9001:2015 Design, ISO 13485:2016, AS9100:2016, NIST 800-171 and ITAR.Mold Maker Summary:Mold Makers are responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining plastic injection molds. You will attend design review meetings when new tools are released into production. Mold Makers report to the Shop Foreman and work closely with their co-workers throughout the entire process. Also responsible for troubleshooting of injection molds for repair work - including broken components, part flash, sticking parts, leaking water or some other improper function of the injection mold Ability to repair or make new replacement components such as ejector pins, core pins, cam pins, bolt thread repair, etc Dismantles or partially dismantles molds to locate cause of malfunction or cause of part defect Replaces or repairs damaged area. Youmust be able to manage multiple projects daily.Mold Maker Responsibilities:Interprets prints for tooling modifications, accuracy and improvementsCapable of assigning work and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to the work assignmentsPerforms preventive maintenanceRecommends design changes to new and existing toolsWorks with all employees to continuously improve quality and productionVerify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicatorsWorks to tolerances as close as zeroTroubleshoot tooling problems at the pressesKeep accurate records on all applicable documentationMaintains tooling inventory by notifying supervisor in writing of parts neededSuggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase shop efficienciesAssist other tool makers with troubleshootingResponsible for the safe and effective operation of equipment to produce product in specifications in a timely and cost-efficient mannerMold Maker Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentAssociate degree (A.A.) or certificate in tool & die – PREFERREDMust have 5 Years Mold Making ExperienceSpecific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to communicate effectively.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.AutoCAD experience and/or SolidWorks experienceStrong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, predictive maintenance, 5S and related manufacturing best practices - PREFERREDFrequently required standingMust regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.Knowledge of working on and troubleshooting hot runner systems and their respective controllers - PreferredPreferred 3 years of tool set up experience.Preferred 3 years of tool set up experience.Must have Blueprint Reading.Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledThis employer participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S.If E-Verify cannot confirm that you are authorized to work, this employer is required to give you written instructions and an opportunity to contact Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or Social Security Administration (SSA) so you can begin to resolve the issue before the employer can take any action against you, including terminating your employment.
