We look for colleagues who Care, Dare and Deliver.The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe set-up of molds and related equipment and to see that the processes run in an efficient and timely operation to meet customer order demand.Description of Major Responsibilities:
  • Observes all company and safety policies
  • Answers pages for molding problems on the production floor.
  • Installs molds in injection molding machines.
  • Set-up molding machine and mold to meet quality and production standards.
  • Ensure all required documentation is complete
  • Maintain set-up cards and SPC sheets.
  • Repairs minor maintenance problems, such as: cleaning nozzle valves, replacing fuses and heaters, replacing broken roll pins, repairs grinders, adjusts parts handling, etc.
  • Runs samples for color, resin, size, etc. and fills out the proper forms for each.
  • Measures mold components, piece parts, etc. with the use of micrometers, calipers, tape measures and other measuring devices.
  • Troubleshoots molding problems.
  • Rotates into all normal Molder C job assignments as needed throughout production departments
  • Perform housekeeping duties on a regular basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Basic educational level background normally acquired through the completion of high school level programs leading to a diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must successfully complete Huhtamaki LOTO training program in a within first 30 days
  • Successfully complete interactive training modules
  • Demonstrate effective use of micrometers, calipers, tape measures and other measuring devices.
  • Acquire license to operate power lift trucks
  • 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to understand and apply mechanical concepts and principles to solve problems.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Work overtime as required to meet customer's needs.
Physical Requirements:
  • Employee works in a manufacturing environment. Individual will work a set schedule including regular weekend work.
  • Requires prolonged standing (90%) with occasional walking (10%).
  • Requires twisting at waist, bending/stooping, squatting/kneeling, and climbing ladders.
  • Incumbent will lift up to 35lbs. on a regular basis and lift/carry more than 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Requires reaching at, above and below shoulder level.
  • Required safety equipment: hair/beard net, safety glasses, ear plugs. May be exposed to various chemicals such as: oil, hydraulic fluid, etc.
