Job Summary and Qualifications

The Monitor Technician gathers data for rhythm interpretation. Participates in Performance Improvement

activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement. Maintains cultural and diversity awareness when

dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers and all other customers. Assists in fulfilling department

responsibilities with the long range plan, mission, vision and values of Horizon.

Position Qualifications

* Knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation with a rhythm test score of 85% or greater.

* Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification required within 90 days of hire or

promotion.

Performance Expectations

* Must demonstrate the ability to perform specific competencies as listed on the Competency

Validation Checklist.

* Meets mutually-agreed upon performance goals and objectives as listed on the Performance

Management Plan.

* Must be flexible, work at a fast pace and manage several assignments at one time

* Maintain positive interdisciplinary contract with other departments and health care professionals

What qualifications you will need:

* Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
