Summary:
Responsible for planning program activities and supervision of staff and students to ensure that the established policies, procedures, educational curriculum, and safety procedures of the MORNING School Age Child Care (SACC) program are upheld.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide effective supervision of students and staff members at all times.
· Collaborate with Center Director, PM SACC Coordinator, staff of the center and representatives of St. John's UCC.
· Ensure quality programing using PA state learning standards to plan and crosswalk the AM SACC homegrown curriculum.
· Model expectations for students and SACC employees with self-care (hand-washing, for example), use of language/gestures, relationships of respect with SACC students, staff & parents, respect and care of program materials, and following directions given by the center director and leadership team.
· Build and maintain positive relationships with SACC students and staff.
· Maintain communication with parents of students in the Morning SACC program regarding both the program and any concerns about their child.
· Attend monthly staff meetings and keep the center director informed regarding the shared responsibility of coordinating daily operations and cleaning responsibilities.
· Maintain a 1:12 student ratio during regular SACC hours and meet other DHS grouping requirements regarding classroom placement and transitions.
· Frequently interact with children in play and gross motor activities.
· Record daily attendance.
· Complete required STARS documents (classroom scoring sheets, etc.)
· Perform observations during scheduled group times.
· Assume other responsibilities as directed by the center director and assistant director.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
Experience in training and coordinating personnel and program management.
Experience with before and after school programs is preferred.
Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations & Trainings:
Current CPR/Pediatric First Aid certification. (If not certified at time of hire, certification must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.)
Annual Fire Safety and Water Safety training
Up to 24 hours of required training annually including mandated reporter training, STARS overview, and the basics of health and safety training.
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to design and implement an effective plan for staff and student activities.
Ability to effectively supervise others, including oversight of daily responsibilities, training, development and performance management.
Ability to define problems, collect facts and data, and develop solutions.
Computer skills to complete reports and prepare written communications and emails.
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically present and actively engaged in student activity in various areas of the center interior located on two floor levels and exterior areas.
Respond to voices and radio communications in a noisy environment.
Communicate verbally and audibly in a noisy environment.
Observe children, adults, and moving objects at near and far distances.

Attendance:
Reliability and consistent regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Availability to work irregular shifts if needed and participate in special program events hosted during evenings and weekends when necessary.
