Job DetailsJob LocationCorporate Headquarters - Chattanooga, TNPosition TypeFull TimeJob ShiftM - F 8:00 - 4:45Job CategoryBankingDescriptionJOB SUMMARY: The Mortgage Loan Originator Assistant (MLOA) will play a vital part in communicating directly with the loan originator, members, referral partners, real estate agents, title companies, processors and underwriters to nurture relationships and provide superior member service. The MLOA will work to develop timely and efficient workflows in an effort to maximize and prioritize the origination support activities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide additional support to one or more Mortgage Loan Originators
  • Serve as an additional contact and liaison between members, processors, closers, the assigned loan originator and any third party involved in the transaction
  • Review all loan package documentation for discrepancies, omissions, and income calculation and report any discrepancies to the loan originator or processor
  • Follow up and respond to member or third party inquiries on transactions as needed in order to provide superior member service
  • Facilitates internal communication between processing, underwriting and closing to ensure closing dates are met
  • Coordinate and proactively communicate with outstanding pipeline of prequalification requests, as well as with active loan pipeline
  • Assist members with accessing online documents and password resets
  • Assist Mortgage Loan Originator with any re-disclosure requests
  • Responsible for documenting the conversation log with any communication to or from any party involved in the transaction
  • Maintain compliance standards from application to funding
  • Complete NMLS registration
  • Perform other administrative functions as requested by management
  • Maintain knowledge of branch operations by completing Deposit Regulation and Product and Service Certification courses.
  • Proactively demonstrate the TVFCU core values of integrity, honesty, flexibility, teamwork, leadership, accountability and strong relationships in every interaction with members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years of experience in a lending capacity preferred
  • Ideal candidate will have an understanding of lending guidelines, state and federal regulations, as well as a general knowledge of mortgage lending products
  • Highly motivated and goal-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills, whether in person, by phone, or email
  • Computer proficiency required including MS Office; proprietary mortgage software preferred
  • Team player with a positive, can do attitude and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to multitask while having a high level of accuracy and attention to detail; well organized
