The President of Business Operations for the Motor City Cruise will oversee and drive the strategic business operations of the team. This executive leader will focus on revenue generation, marketing, fan engagement, and community outreach, aligning with the organizational vision to cultivate a strong, loyal fan base and contribute to the overall success of the team.
As the Motor City Cruise president, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the NBA G-League Business Operation, including ticket sales, sponsorships, marketing and oversight of all aspects of the Motor City Cruise operation. Within this role, you will be required to interact with department leaders and act as a partner with Detroit Pistons executive team. The role requires flexibility, perseverance and a positive attitude in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment.

What you'll be doing:
* Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive business strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets and enhance the overall brand of the Motor City Cruise.
* Revenue Generation: Drive revenue through ticket sales, sponsorships, merchandise, and other business ventures. Build and maintain relationships with corporate partners and collaborators to identify new revenue streams.
* Marketing & Fan Engagement: Collaborate with the marketing team to create innovative campaigns promoting games and events. Leverage digital and traditional media to boost fan engagement and expand the fan-base.
* Community Relations: Establish community partnerships and initiatives to engage with local fans and support community projects. Lead the execution of plans to develop the team's image and relations with the community.
* Operational Efficiency: Work with operations to ensure efficient cross collaboration across departments. Implement standard processes to enhance operational effectiveness.
* Team Development: Build and nurture a high-performing team by recruiting, training, and mentoring staff. Promote a culture of empathy, excellence, and innovation.
* Financial Management: Work with Finance and Business Intelligence teams to prepare and manage budgets, financial reports, and forecasts to ensure financial efficiency and accountability across all business operations.
* Function as the primary liaison between the business team, basketball operations, the Pistons organization, Wayne State Arena leadership, city/county leadership, and League offices
What we're looking for:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, Marketing, or related field;
* 10+ years of experience in sports management, business operations, or a related field, with a strong track record of revenue growth and strategic development.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
* Strong understanding of marketing, branding, and digital media strategies.
* Financial acumen with experience in managing budgets and analyzing financial data.
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with corporate collaborators and community partners.
* A background in the sports and entertainment industry is a plus, along with an awareness and interest in the revitalization of Detroit
* Excellent relationship-building skills and enjoys working with employees at all levels, but also maintains strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and a proven ability to handle multiple priorities, processes, and data
* The ability to work extended hours, including games and events on nights and weekends
* A thorough individual with an understanding that no matter how big or small the task is, it's your responsibility to make sure it gets done.
* Must be able to think collaboratively and value different opinions
