Motor Equipment Operator I - Sanitation - City of Dover, DE : Job Details

The City of Dover is currently seeking applicants for the position of Motor Equipment Operator I in the Sanitation Division of Public Works Department. The primary duties of this position is to perform labor in support of City operations within the Sanitation Division., which involve a variety of semi-skilled tasks associated with the collection and transportation of municipal solid waste.

Job Responsibilities

* Operate motor equipment to transport materials, tools, equipment, or personnel to job sites, load or haul dirt, or pick up debris from job sites.

* Operate equipment such as trash/refuse pick up, snow removal, or other specialized operations

* Complete job-related logs and forms

* Overtime is required as needed

* Ability to perform medium to heavy work lifting up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis

Required Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED is required

* Minimum of six (6) months of related experience preferred

* Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), or the ability to obtain a CDL permit within two (2) months and CDL license within six (6) months is required

* Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical associated with the CDL

* Pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

Hourly Rate: DOE Labor Grade 17 / $18.63 per hour (Based on Qualifications)
