Job Summary

This is a physically demanding job which requires moving equipment and furniture, sometimes in excess of 70 lbs. Moving Services provides a variety of tools to assist with moving and setups. Movers work closely with delivery workers within the departmental unit when short staffed. Movers should possess a friendly and helpful demeanor as we serve GCSU students, faculty, staff and guests.

Responsibilities

Moving Responsibilities - 100

This job requires moving a wide variety of items such as tables, chairs, furniture, stages, etc. Setups are sometimes under tight deadlines so applicants must be able to work under these time constraints.

Movers are required to work independently and as a team. Movers are responsible for following daily work order assignments. This includes accessing 25LIVE, GCSU's Work Order System, and emails to fulfill daily moving, setups and breakdown needs.

Movers operate state owned golf carts and vehicles daily, therefore must maintain a valid drivers license. Movers are often asked to assist Central Receiving with deliveries and other related duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent

Other Required Qualifications

Valid Driver's License. Ability to lift 70 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications

Experience in warehouse and stores inventory.

Preferred Experience

1 year of moving experience.

SKILLS
