The MRI Technologist will be responsible for a multitude of MRI exams including Interventional MRI and will be knowledgeable of and dedicated to MR safety. Employee will provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors and staff with an emphasis on quality service and excellent patient care. Employee must be self-motivated and demonstrate ability to work as a team. Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Completes all steps involved with the exams including Documentation of Patient History, Tech Info, Contrast Info, and IV Injection info. And scanning paperwork packs into the system.
  • Follow all MRI safety policies consistently for staff and patients.
  • Consistently follow patient identification policy: Labeling syringes when loading with date, time, contrast, and initials. Follow all P+P regarding use of ISTAT (Per sites worked)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of MR department procedures and protocols by setting acquisition factors for optimal image quality, evaluating images for quality, and accurately following physicians instructions.
  • Assesses stock levels and enters stock/pantry orders in computer system.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Education: Minimum of Associates degree, Radiologic Sciences program. ARRT Certification in MRI.
  • Licensure: ARRT credentials for Diagnostic Imaging and NYS license. Also must receive the enhanced NYS license for injection, on or before completion of introductory period.
  • Experience: Preference of two years' experience, but new graduates welcomed.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Problem solving ability and attention to detail is preferred
  • Good written and oral communication skills preferred.
  • Requires ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely and adjust to changes in work volumes.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand/sit for long periods while performing ultrasound studies. Ability to push ultrasound equipment throughout hospital for bedside testing.
