Job Type Part-timeDescription $2,500 SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE Summary/Objective - MRI technologist works as a team member committed to a common purpose and goals. In this role, he/she operates the MRI scanner to obtain diagnostic images for use by physicians. Technologist monitors image generation adjusting for clarity and resolution as needed to provide the radiologist with excellent diagnostic images. He/she is responsible within their scope of licensure & in accordance with approved protocols, policies and procedures to attain the highest quality diagnostic images possible. He/she shares responsibility for all aspects of patient and team functions. The MRI Technologist performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/lead technologist. Candidate must possess the communication skills necessary to fully prepare the patient for the MRI examinationEssential Functions
- Stays abreast of latest advances and imaging techniques. Proficient in the operation of all scanners. Proper use and understanding of all ancillary equipment and workstations.
- Designs efficient protocols with radiologist aid to efficiently perform each exam according to clinical information at hand. Within scope of practice communicates with physicians, staff and radiologists to obtain any pertinent information needed to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
- Performs proper quality control of MR equipment. Check scanner daily .Documents and informs appropriate engineer of malfunctions as they arise. Demonstrate proper MR safety considerations regarding equipment and any individuals entering magnet field.
- Follows universal safety precautions when starting IV's. Use proper lifting techniques when assisting patients or moving equipment. Communicates well with co-workers in an ever-changing environment. Demonstrates teamwork along with the willingness to share knowledge & skills with co-workers.
- Must demonstrate basic knowledge and competency performing the specialty exams below routinely:
- Elastography By MRI
- Enterography By MRI
- Magnetic Resonance Angiography
- Spectroscopy by MRI

RequirementsRequired Education and Experience - ARRT Registry Certification in MRI; Must demonstrate competency and perform the specialty routinely. New graduate or 0-3 years of experience. Under 1-year of general body MRI experience. State of Florida licensure in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine and/or Ultrasound. Technical or associate degree. CPR certification within 90 days of employment. MRI technologist is required to possess the needed computer literacy & technical skills to efficiently provide optimal MRI images in accordance with Watson Clinic's standard of delivering excellent patient care. Excellent verbal communication skills necessary as well as ability to maintain composure in potentially stressful environment. Demonstrates tact, timeliness, accountability, commitment & willingness to achieve goals, and partake in resource management. Must possess the necessary skills needed to work independently as well as with others.Additional Eligibility Qualifications - Must demonstrate above average intelligence, accuracy, ability to cooperate, neat and pleasant appearance, promptness and industry in keeping with the prestige and image of the department.
