Job Description :
JOB SUMMARYThe primary function of the MRO Buyer / Purchasing Coordinator is to purchase requirements needed to support shop operations. Buy and route emergency requirements to jobs same day or next day. Aid RMS purchasing team and site project managers to insure parts are available to support shop schedules. Attend weekly shop production meetings and coordinate purchasing actions. Develop and implement shop consumable programs with suppliers. Negotiate and Implement VIM hardware, machine tool automated vending for cutters, and safety supplies as well as driving cost saving opportunities. This position will also monitor open orders across Engineered to order commodities including shipments, deliveries and schedules to ensure dates are achieved. This position is a 40+ hours position.PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Quoting, negotiating and order placement of assigned commodities
  • Implementation of cost saving strategies / volume discounts etc.
  • Monitor and expedite open orders and delivery requirements for all Buyers
  • Coordinate nonconforming / deviation request with quality control and engineering
  • Supplier development of assigned commodities.
  • Coordinate shipments of material from RMS locations to suppliers
  • Establish supplier promise dates per quoted lead times
  • Attend and support weekly flow parts meetings
  • Maintain current delivery dates for production in Job Boss system
  • Support Inventory validation / cycle counting and maintenance
  • Assigned commodities:
  • Purchase daily MRO supplies for shop
  • Purchase Catalog hardware and products.
  • Purchase Data, nameplates and engraving.
  • Inspections, testing and calibration
  • Purchase Shop CapX under $40K
  • Travel to supplier locations for expediting surveillance
  • Manage yearly calibration orders
  • Create shipping requests.
  • Monitor expected receipts
  • Track shipments as needed
  • Other purchasing related tasks as required

EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma Required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in purchasing, Materials management, and planning.
  • Experience in procuring, expediting, and managing: Raw Material, MRO, Stampings, Engraving Pipe and fittings as well as many other industrial items.

  • Strong organizational, communication and computer skills required
  • Demonstration of significant volumes of orders and order management

  • JobBOSS ERP a plus.
OTHER INFORMATION
  • The position will be based full time in our Bethlehem, PA facility.
  • This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40+ hours per week. Additional Hours, including evenings or weekends as required based on project needs.
  • This position can be required to participate in the company random or customer specific drug and alcohol screening and background check.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Ability to professionally handle stressful situations.
  • Must be able to multitask, prioritize and coordinate many job tasks daily.
  • Able to understand, read, write and speak English.
  • Able to read, interpreter, and understand technical specs, blueprints, (CAD Drawings) and BOMs.
  • Outgoing personality to interact with entire company and customers.
  • Organization skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to legally work in the US and provide proper documentation.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of times, able to reach above head, bend and stand.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug, alcohol test and background check.
  • This position can be required to participate in company or customers random drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Must not have allergies or issues related to handling metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel.
WORK ENVIRONMENTOffice Environment on a regular basis. While performing the duties of this position, the employee may perform work in a shop environment and will be exposed to moving mechanical parts. While the work area may be described as generally clean, safe, and not loud , there will be machining operations that generate moderate noise and metal particles.WHAT WE OFFER
