ResponsibilitiesWHAT YOU WILL DO:The Commercial Estimator is a full-time, salaried position responsible for all commercial takeoffs and managing a team of Multi-Family Estimators at the hub. The Commercial Estimator works closely with the Multi-Family and Project Execution teams to:
- Review and analyze blueprints and specifications relative to the schedule and scope of work.
- Coordinate and manage construction projects and associated paperwork.
- Utilize PlanSwift estimating software to generate takeoffs and estimates.
- Communicate directly with the customer in a timely, professional manner.
QualificationsREQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Extensive PlanSwift (primary estimating software) knowledge and experience
- Ability to perform framing material takeoffs using PlanSwift on large scale, wood framed multi-family buildings
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with high expertise in Excel
- 1-3 years of estimating experience is preferred
Preferred Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or at least 2 years of specific experience and/or training related to the essential functions of the job; or equivalent combination of education and training.WORK ENVIRONMENT:This position is in a busy office environment and is faced with constant interruptions on a regular basis. There is low to moderate exposure to common office sounds such as ringing phones, talking, printers, copy machines and fax machines.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:This position involves frequent sitting, use of hands and reaching with hands and arms. Rarely this position stands.This position has a uniform policy that requires that all associates are clean shaven daily.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position. Hours of work depend on hours of operations.
