Job Description :

As the Multi-Site Quality Manager, you be responsible for impacting process quality, driving continuous improvement through Six Sigma methodologies, oversee claims management for your region, and mentor/develop the quality & technical service teams to ensure operations meet or exceed external and internal quality requirements. This is a role made for an individual with a passion for being on the manufacturing floor, talking with operations associates, and gets excited about problem solving. You will work closely with plant management and regional operations management on ensuring customer satisfaction, decreasing quality issues & scrap, and increasing throughput. This position has overall responsibilities for creating and executing actionable plans and priorities for multiple sites located in the southern region of the company.

Relocation assistance is available to Houston, TX or Jackson, MS.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Ensure quality control plan adherence, with specific parameters developed pursuant to customer demands
  • Driving compliance with process quality assurance protocols
  • Evaluating & implementing corrective actions
  • Ensuring new technology is successfully implemented & embraced
  • Identifying opportunities to assist customers & provide value-added services
  • Partnering with corporate resource to ensure ISO procedures are being implemented & followed

Additional responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in trials to ensure critical-to-quality factors are addressed prior to run
  • Ensure corrective action effectiveness & assist plants with identifying quality improvement initiatives
  • Develop & train Plant Quality & Technical Service members. Ensure standard work is in place by position. Identify competency gaps & provide training and/or resources to correct
  • Direct Technical Service Reps - ensure claims are handled timely, appropriate corrective actions are implemented, and Reps are partnering with plant personnel to resolve problems
  • Evaluate & implement Best Practices across the plants
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lead/oversee effective implementation
  • Identify systemic problems by plant, specify projects related to those areas, and follow up to measure progress
  • Interact and visit customers to solve issues
  • Review claims set to be denied, ensuring research was completed accurately

Qualifications

Bachelor's in Chemistry or Science related field, Engineering, or Operations Management preferred. 7-10 years progressive quality management experience, preferably with metal products or asphalt products or paint/coatings.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt trained strongly preferred (required within 24 months of assuming the position).
  • Ability to travel 50% as you will be responsible for multiple plants in this role.
