Key Position Details:
.5 FTE (40 hours every two weeks)
10-hour, day shifts
Every other weekend rotation
PT benefit eligible
* Lead groups with an activity focus (ex. Recreation, Health/Wellness Promotion, Symptom Management Skills, etc).
* Responsible for planning, implementing, documenting group and activity-based therapy for patients with acute, chronic and persistent mental illness and chemical dependency.
* Ability to adapt and grade activities based on cognitive, behavioral, emotional needs of the patients
* Ability to adapt and change therapy plan based on patient needs
* Previous experience leading groups with patients with neurodevelopment disorders, ADHD, trauma history, autism, depression, and anxiety
* Work closely with patient, family, and interdisciplinary team to develop comprehensive and individualized plan of care
* Prior history working with acute, chronic and persistent mental illness in adults preferred
* Training or experience in trauma informed care practices and motivational interviewing is preferred
* Demonstrated skills in the areas of organization, communication, interpersonal relations, leadership, decision making and problem solving
Job Description:
Provides music therapy services in an variety of different settings. May be assigned a geographic region for services.
Principle Responsibilities
* Provide music therapy services.
* Initially assess the patient and family to determine plan of care, implement interventions and evaluate results.
* Develop or contribute to the plan of care that addresses appropriate goals and interventions to meet the patient needs of ages, cultural backgrounds and in various settings (inpatient, outpatient, group, residential, hospital, nursing home, etc.).
* Administers music therapy interventions to patient and families.
* Maintains music therapy equipment and supplies.
* Documents services provided in relation to expected outcomes.
* Planning and education of services.
* May educate support staff, volunteers and families through a variety of means.
* May orient new staff and volunteers.
* May plan group programs to treat patients.
* Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in music therapy from a program approved by the American Music Therapy Association
* 0 to 2 years of music therapist experience and completion of an American Music Therapy Association clinical internship in music therapy
Preferred Qualifications
* 2 to 5 years as a music therapist in an acute care or home care and hospice setting
Licenses/Certifications
* Certified Music Therapists - The Certification Board for Music Therapists required upon hire
* Valid Driver's License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver's license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment if providing services for Home Care and Hospice

Pay Range
Pay Range: $30.39 to $41.65 per hour
The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
