Musical Director Mokena Junior High School The musical director is responsible for the following:
- Selection of an appropriate musical for junior high aged students - must also be approved by administration
- Securing dates and conducting auditions, call backs, selecting participants, securing crew, planning and conducting rehearsals, and producing all aspects of the muscical
- Adequately preparing the students for at least two to three performances of the musical
- Managing all aspects of the musical from the construction of sets and props to securing costumes and electronic devices (microphones, lighting,etc.)
- Working with the venue to ensure all production aspects are managed.
- Working with administration on budgeting
- Managing parent volunteers
Auditions normally take place in late September to early October and the dates for the musical are normally in March
