ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Ensure that all PSI safety procedures, rules andregulations are followed and met.
  • Develop CAD nesting sketches with bevels, part marking, and chamfer information for the plasma and oxygen CNC plate cutting stations.
  • Develop CAD milling and nesting sketches with bevels, part marking, and chamfer information for the CNC panel cutting stations.
  • Determine the most efficient plate part arrangement and sequence to be used during cutting operations to minimize the waste of raw material.
  • Convert CAD files into GEN files readable by the individual cutting stations.
  • Verify that corner loops, bevel windows, marking lines, bevels, part-to-part, and part-to-plate edge distances are adequate for the individual cutting stations.
  • Issue CNC cutting files by locating them into the network based on agreed procedures.
  • Communicate with Production personnel to resolve any production issues with the documentation / information.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTYThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.EDUCATION AND EXPEREIENCE
  • Associate's Degree
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in shipbuilding or steel fabrication
  • General knowledge of steel material qualities and steel structural design/construction
  • CAD / CAM software knowledge
  • MS Office experience
