- Primary technical administration of Extreme (Formerly Avaya/Nortel) Enterprise switches
- Primary technical support of cabling infrastructure including, but not limited to, single & multimode fiber, Cat 6, Cat5e, and copper trunk cabling
- Primary technical administration of Aruba wireless infrastructure
- Primary technical administration of Aruba Clear Pass network access control system
- Primary administration of Avaya Aura Communication Manager and Avaya Aura Messaging systems
- Provide secondary technical administration of networked based storage
- Provide secondary administration of VMWare Server environment
- Provide secondary administration of Office 365 environment
- Maintains network performance analysis using packet capture tools and network performance analyzers
- Provide secondary administration of Check Point Firewall appliances supporting NGX
- Provide secondary administration of user access and security using Active Directory
- Secondary support for all data backup and recovery processes and coordination of off-site storage
- Participation in 24x7 on-call support is required
- Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students as needed
- Must be able to lift 51 lbs and be capable of working while standing or crawling for extended periods
- Perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications:Education and/or Experience:
- BS in computer or network related fields is required, equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- 2-5 years of hands-on technical experience in a Network Administration support role, with proven experience in network project management and infrastructure support
Technology Skills:
- Administration of Extreme fabric connect switchs
- Administration of Extreme ethernet routing switches (3000, 4000, and 5000 series)
- Management of Aruba Networks controllers and access points
- Management of Aruba Networks Clear Pass solution
- Demonstrate proficiency with packet capture tools and protocol analysis
- Proficiency working with TCP/IP, SNMP, 802.3, 802.3af, BGP, 802.11x, VoIP
- Fluke WAN, LAN, WLAN and cable analyzers
Additional Experience:Candidates should have experience with three or more of the following disciplines:
- Running and terminating new network drops
- Windows Server OS
- Network administration in a mixed server environment
- Network and application performance analysis
- Proficient with the tools required for security breach detection and remediation
Special Requirements:
- Valid drivers' license and ability to be insured under the University's insurance plan preferred

- Effective verbal and written skills
- Possess strong customer service skills
- Project management experience
- Self motivated strong work ethic with exceptional attention to detail
