Job Title: Network Engineer (Access Control Technician) Duration: 6-month contract Location: On-site at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), New York City Reports to: Network Engineering Department Job Summary: The Network Access Control Technician will be responsible for deploying 802.1x Network Access Control on Juniper network switches. This includes experience with Juniper switch code upgrades. Key Responsibilities: •Deploy Network Access Control (NAC) on various floors each week. •Perform physical upgrades of network switches. •Check functionality of internet, phones, and Wi-Fi post-upgrades. •Provide level one support for wireless issues and user support. •Collaborate with the team during off-hours for upgrades (primarily Tuesday nights). •Adjust working hours as needed for project requirements. Requirements: •Experience with Juniper EX 4300 switches and code upgrades. •Ability to learn and navigate the site's specific needs quickly. •Strong interpersonal skills for user interaction and teamwork. •Flexibility in working hours, including nights as needed. •Capability to perform repetitive technical tasks with consistency. Working Conditions: - required to work on-site five days a week, eight hours per day (with an unpaid lunch break), at HSS's Midtown and Upper East offices. Totaling 35 hours of paid work per week. - Business casual dress code: tucked-in dress shirt, no jeans. - Compliance with hospital health requirements, including annual flu vaccination.
