Job Description Under general supervision administers on installation, support and troubleshooting of network communications, including LAN/WAN systems. Works on complex problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation and judgment. Participate in large scale network projects through equipment comparisons and cost analysis.
  • Perform necessary research and testing to support all LAN, WAN, WLAN, datacenter network and network security issues. Acts as a resource for network related technical issues within Information Technology department.
  • Responsible for the configuration, installation and monitoring of all LAN/WAN/WLAN and network security equipment. Performs analysis of WLANs based on site surveys and industry best practices.
  • Participate in the design and analysis of complex lab scenarios to ensure high availability and disaster recovery of the network environment. Assess new products and technology and provide recommendations to management.
  • Acts to ensure adherence to corporate security policies, performing regular network security assessments and providing recommendations for security improvements.
  • Participates in comprehensive network design and strategy meetings. Provides capacity planning reports and recommendations. Documents network engineering solutions in accordance with in-house and industry standards.
Qualifications In addition to the responsibilities listed above, other duties may be assigned by your supervisor, as dictated by business necessity.
  • Bachelors Degree in IT related discipline or equivalent combination of technical education and experience. CCNA, CCNP certification strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the Information Technology field. 3 or more years of experience with Cisco hardware platforms.
  • Knowledge - Thorough knowledge of all aspects of Networking Infrastructure components, Project Management. Skills - Proactive problem-solving, multi-tasking and organizational skills. Strong communication skills both written and oral.
  • Abilities - Define problems involving advanced complexity, collects data, analyzes available information and evaluates results to choose the best solutions. SUPERVISORY SCOPE List the title the job will report to, and the titles and approximate or average number of direct and indirect reports for which this position will be responsible.
