Description The Network Operations Technician will monitor, maintain, and optimize our network systems to ensure uptime, reliability, and performance. This role requires technical expertise in network administration, troubleshooting skills, and working in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: - Monitor network performance and uptime using monitoring tools and systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, patching, and hardware upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including connectivity problems, outages, and security incidents.
- Coordinate with network engineers and IT staff to implement network changes and upgrades.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Respond to network alerts and escalations in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Implement and enforce network security protocols and policies to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Assist in the planning and implementing network infrastructure projects, such as network expansions and migrations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff.
- Stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and best practices in network operations.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in network operations, network administration, or a similar role.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: - Strong knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and subnetting.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Familiarity with cloud networking and virtualization technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.

Physical stamina to handle the long hours of performing strenuous work during the day in hot or cold weather. - Employees who drive company vehicles must possess a valid and appropriate driver's license for driving the vehicle, and employees who operate company equipment must be trained and authorized.
- Employees operating company vehicles and equipment must comply with state and federal laws and regulations. Seat belt use is required while operating any company vehicle or equipment.
- Texting while driving is prohibited by Dobson Fiber policy and State Law.
- Participate in safety committee meetings, training sessions, and surveys as requested and provide input into improving safety.
- Notify your supervisor or Human Resources immediately of any change in physical or mental condition or use of prescription drugs or illegal drugs that would affect the employee's job performance or the safety of him/herself or others.
- Working under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs is strictly prohibited at any company facility, workplace, worksite, or when operating any company vehicle or equipment. Any employee, contractor, or subcontractor who works or reports to work under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs will be subject to disciplinary action, including possible termination of employment or loss of contract.
- Notify the Human Resources Director within five days of serious driving, drug/alcohol, or criminal convictions.
