Title: Network Security Analyst Location: Garden City, New York (Long Island) - Hybrid Salary: $75K-$85K Growing Insurance Company Seeks Network Security Analyst to Join Their Team!Responsibilities:
- Proactive system monitoring, analysis, and mitigation of risks to the organization.
- Manage, maintain, and support Cisco Switching, Routing, Firewalls, IPS/IDS, DLP and SIEM.
- Research and assess new threats and security alerts.
- Design and support security solutions based on recognized standards and best practices.
- Conduct routine hardware and software audits.
- Periodic security assessment of firewall, router, switches, VPN, and other related devices.
- Identify and mitigate risk for ongoing operations to improve security & availability of all systems.
- Maintain proper change management documentation for all hardware and software modifications.
- Windows, RHEL, VMWare and EMC VNX administration
- Meet objectives & goals set for by management.
Education, Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of supporting a midsized IT environment.
- Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent career experience/certification path.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies, with a focus on network and system security.
- Proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Cisco security products, including switches, routers, firewalls, IPS/IDS systems, and other Cisco security solutions.
- Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions and the ability to implement and manage them effectively.
- Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, including the ability to analyze and respond to security events.
- Understanding of endpoint protection mechanisms and best practices for securing end-user devices.
- Expertise in firewall configuration, rule management, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and its application in securing organizational assets.
- Knowledge of best practices in patch management to ensure systems are up to date and secure.
- Experience in VMWare administration, including virtualization technologies and hypervisors.
- Proficiency in managing Windows Active Directory environments and ensuring their security.
- Ability to design and implement secure network architectures based on recognized standards and best practices.
- Operating Systems: Administration experience with Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and other operating systems.
- Storage Administration: Knowledge of storage systems, including EMC VNX administration.
