Network Security Engineer – 8239
Our client, an established legal firm in Manhattan, is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in network security, with at least ten years of hands-on experience in networking and firewalls. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network solutions to protect the organization's data and infrastructure from cyber threats.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and secure network architecture.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability testing, and risk analysis, including optimizations, network resilience, and failover testing.
- Monitor and respond to network and device help tickets.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and threats, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments, as well as outside vendors, to integrate security best practices.
- Perform security audits and penetration testing to identify and mitigate potential threats.
- Stay current on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technology advancements.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior security engineers and other IT staff.
- Prepare and present security reports and recommendations to senior management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field required.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in network security engineering.
- Strong knowledge of network security protocols, tools, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto, Cloudflare, Fortinet NAC, Fortigate firewalls, and BGP routing.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security appliances.
