This position is located at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

This position is not eligible for telecommuting.

Essential Functions

* Support the mission network infrastructure

* Resolve Routing, Switching, Firewall, Intrusion Detection, Loading-Balancing, Serial to IP, and Virtual environment incidents

* Ensure the enterprise is compliant and free from vulnerabilities

* Responsible for network devise support and operations support to the customer

* Provide day-to-day support of the Mission Enterprise Network

* Monitor network performance and integrity

* Identify, isolate and resolve network problems using protocol analyzers

* Remediate network vulnerabilities

* Perform scheduled and emergency network maintenance

* Configure layer 2 and layer 3 network devices

* Install security patches and firmware updates

* Mentor less experienced team members on technical issues

* Communicate with users when needed

* Maintain complete technical documentation

* Participate in 24/7 on-call schedule, responding to network outages and other events

* Work with other departments to help them deploy new applications

* Follow all Change Management procedures

* Complete assigned training and assist with the training of others to ensure optimal availability of qualified personnel for daily operations, maintenance, and launch support

* Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

* Ability to troubleshoot problems in a large complex environment

* Ability to analyze, provide and implement solutions for, and document, hardware and software problems

* Advanced written and verbal communications skills

* Ability to meet deadlines under critical time and cost constraints

* Ability to interface and communicate professionally with all levels of personnel in a diverse, team-orientated environment

* Ability to work well in fast paced and stressful environment

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Possess strong organizational skills with specific emphasis on attention to detail

* Must be results orientated, self-motivated and high-energy

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with employees and the public

Required Experience

* Bachelor's degree in technology related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

* Five (5) or more years of overall information technology experience

* Five (5) or more years of network administration experience

* Practical understanding of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS)

* Proficient Knowledge and Experience in:

* Layer 3 routing (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, HSRP, VRRP)

* Layer 2 technologies (Spanning Tree, VTP, 802.1Q, Dynamic/Private Vlans)

* WAN environments, installing and troubleshooting circuit problems (MPLS, OCxx, T1, DS3) and traffic shaping/QoS

* Network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. SolarWinds)

* Experience with networking and security within the DoD environment, preferred

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

* Security+ CE certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification within six months of start date

* The flexibility to work frequent non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship

* Valid U.S. Driver's License
