Job Title: Network Technician

Location: Cincinnati, OH (onsite 5 days/week)

Type: Contract-to-Hire

Compensation: Up to $32/hour

Travel: Expected regional travel up to 50%

The Network Technician will play a vital role in supporting the organization's IT infrastructure, including maintaining the stability and integrity of the local and wireless networks. The role involves hands-on involvement with network hardware, software, and communication links, ensuring optimal performance and security.

Responsibilities:

  • Network Hardware Deployment: Configure, deploy, and maintain routers, switches, access points, UPSs, and related network equipment.
  • Support & Upgrades: Manage and support hardware and software upgrades for new and existing systems.
  • Vendor Coordination: Liaise with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to procure network products and services.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor network performance and promptly troubleshoot issues.
  • Connectivity Maintenance: Ensure consistent network connectivity for servers, workstations, telephone equipment, and other appliances.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain accurate documentation and technical specifications for network systems.
  • Network Security: Assist in configuring and supporting network security solutions, adhering to best practices.
  • Conference Room Technology: Support the maintenance and functionality of conference room technology.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Networking, or a related field (preferred).
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent are strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in IT and networking roles.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Familiarity with network protocols and standards, including routing, DHCP, and DNS.
  • Basic understanding of network security principles and best practices.
