For one of our clients, we are looking for a Network (Wireless) Engineer - Remote, working remotely from San Diego, California, United States.
As a Network (Wireless) Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing wireless network solutions across enterprise environments. You will work with industry-leading technologies, ensuring seamless connectivity and security for a wide range of devices, including mobile and IoT endpoints. Your expertise in wireless solutions, network security, authentication protocols, and virtualization will be essential in delivering high-performance network infrastructure. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, technical leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Accountabilities:
- Design, implement, and manage wireless network infrastructure using Aruba and/or Cisco solutions.
- Maintain and optimize campus routing and switching technologies.
- Integrate policy-driven infrastructure solutions (e.g., ClearPass, ISE) to enhance security and access control.
- Develop and implement RESTful API integrations for network automation.
- Manage and configure next-generation firewalls and unified threat management platforms (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper).
- Ensure seamless authentication and access control using RADIUS, AAA, TACACS+, and Active Directory, LDAP.
- Oversee certificate management with Microsoft PKI and public CA providers.
- Support Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions like Airwatch and JAMF.
- Provide technical leadership and maintain network infrastructure roadmaps and documentation.
- Travel up to 35% may be required for project deployments and client engagements.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in delivering network and security solutions for enterprise environments.
- Expertise in Aruba and/or Cisco wireless solutions (controllers, access points, location services, vendor ecosystems).
- Strong knowledge of campus networking best practices and policy-driven infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with next-generation firewalls and unified threat management platforms.
- Proficiency in authentication technologies, including RADIUS, AAA, Active Directory, and LDAP.
- Experience with certificate management, virtualization (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V), and IoT endpoint security.
- Familiarity with RESTful API integration for automation and network orchestration.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional-level certifications (Aruba or Cisco) preferred:
- Aruba: ACFX, ACMX, ACCX, ACDX, ACMP, ACCP, ACDP
- CWNP Certifications: CWNE, CWAP, CWDP, CWSP, CWNA
