Job Description JOB TITLE: Paralegal-Legal Services Specialist JOB ID: 98771 DURATION: 4 months HOURS: M-F, 9-5 EST LOCATION: 480 Bedford Rd, Chappaqua, NY 10514 This position will be on site in Chappaqua NY Mon-Fri. Preferred hours are 9:00-5:00, but this is flexible. The legal department consists of General Counsel and five other attorneys and two paralegals. The candidate will be supporting the Senior Director of Risk Management The Paralegal-Legal Services Specialist assists the Senior Director Risk Management & Quality Assurance in coordinating the provision of comprehensive risk management services at Optum Medical Care, P.C. for all insurance, enterprise risk and medico-legal matters relating to the special tasks and activities of the department. Essential Duties: • Manages the occurrence/potential claims reporting program, closely reviewing and monitoring occurrences/claims and trending issues. • Responsible for coordination of interviews, proactively gathering involved documentation and ensuring secure, protected and confidential file maintenance for litigated matters. • Responsible for notifying insurance carriers, claims TPA, physicians and attorneys when lawsuits are received. • Coordinates document discovery, witness discovery, claims analysis, case management, and case closure. • Coordinate and schedule high-level meetings and conference calls. • Receive and coordinate all service of process. • Manage and coordinate all legal requests for physicians. • Maintains calendars to include coordination and scheduling of meetings, depositions, conference calls, sends calendar invites and reminders, reserves conference rooms • Performs other duties as assigned.
