$23.07 - $36.91 Hourly $47,989 - $76,782 Annually This position is a Pay Band 65 Posting Details Aging and Long-Term Services Department's (ALTSD) mission is the belief that New Mexico's older adults and adults with disabilities have the right to remain active participants in their communities, to age with respect and dignity, to be protected from abuse, neglect, and exploitation and to have equal access to health care. The Long-Term Care programs at ALTSD administer home- and community-based programs to allow older adults to thrive in their homes and communities to reduce nursing home placements and emergency department visits. Why does the job exist? Under the Direction of the Division/Program Director, the New MexiCare Intake Specialist will: *Responsible for assisting callers on the New MexiCare line, email, faxes, etc. *Provide technical assistance and support to participants, caregivers, and contractors *Resolve complex client eligibility and payment issues by providing accurate and timely information *Complete assessments ; *Responsible for assisting ALTSD clients by gathering the required information and conduct follow-up as applicable *Track and report for KPI's and Performance Measures , accurately and timely, as established by the agency *Assist with other duties as assigned and may be required to report to SF office or other travel assignments. How does it get done? The New MexiCare Intake Specialist will under the direction of Division/Program Director: *Provide technical assistance and support to participants and caregivers including resolving complex client eligibility and payment issues by assisting callers on the New MexiCare line, New MexiCare email box, faxes, etc. (60% of time spent) *Responsible for the tracking and monitoring of constituent concerns (5% of time spent) *Complete assessments (10% of time spent) *Enter and maintain client information in the database with high attention to detail. (10% of time spent) *Tracking and monitoring of participants and caregivers cases, to include eligibility status, budget status, service planning, and follow up as needed. (10% of time spent) *Track and report for KPI's and Performance Measures, accurately and timely, as established by the agency (5% time spent) *Other duties as assigned Who are the customers? ALTSD clients, other agency staff, contractors, home care agencies, and community organizations. Ideal Candidate The Ideal Candidate is someone who can multi-task, work autonomously, and provide outstanding customer service to a wide range of individuals. The person must demonstrate strong critical thinking, case management, working with diverse individuals, conducting assessments, completing documentation, and ensuring all reporting is accurate and timely. * Experience working with high volume case loads which offer guidance and direction to clients. *Experience working in home and community based programs *Knowledge of Community Based Programs *Experience working with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint *Experience in writing, reviewing and implementing policies and procedures Minimum Qualification Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance, and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology and/or Family Studies/Services and two (2) years of any combination of experience including working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management experience, behavioral health, and/or health care. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience. No substitutions apply for semester hours. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Pre-employment background investigation is required. Must pass State and Federal criminal background check. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within 90 days of employment. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting and community setting with extensive use of personal computer, telephone, fax, copier, and other related office equipment.
