Job DescriptionThe New Patient Welcome Navigator plays a key role in providing non-clinical outreach to new patients and their families. This role will provide support, guidance, resources and assistance to achieve the best possible health outcomes and experience. The Navigator will be proactive in helping patients understand next steps, reviewing preventative guidelines, and communicate key information effectively.Responsibilities include facilitating new patient access to Primary Care by helping to identify assigned and/or selecting a provider, obtaining patient information including registration, insurance information, prior medical history, financial status and outside records. The Navigator is responsible for scheduling new patient appointments, sending messages to the patients care team and informing new patients of services available.Qualifications
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program. Program or additional classwork in medication administration required.
  • Licensure/Certification: State or National Medical Assistant Certification from certifying agency required. Current AHA certification or equivalent in basic CPR. Certified Phlebotomy Technician highly preferred. Medical Administration competency complete.
  • Experience: One year's experience in ambulatory care setting preferred. Previous experience with medication administration required.
  • Skills: Demonstrated effective time management skills. Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing ambulatory nursing care as appropriate for patients in the following age groups: Geriatric, Adult, Young Adult, Pediatric and Neonatal. Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates NorthBay's values and true north including nurturing care, own it, respect relationships, build trust, hardwire excellence.
  • Hours of Work: Based on business need.
  • Other: Bilingual preferred.
  • Compensation: $26.66 to $32.00 based on years of experience doing the specific duties of the job.
