News Intern - Tribune Publishing : Job Details

Summary:An internship at the Orlando Sentinel takes you into the heart of the ultimate journalism class: a digital newsroom in one of America's newsiest metropolitan areas. Undergraduate or graduate college students, as well as recent graduates, are allowed. Our summer internships are full-time paid positions, which means working 40 hours a week for 10 weeks. Work may include nights and/or weekends.What you will do:

• Interns will be assigned to different newsroom departments, supervised by an editor, and given assignments to complete on a short-term or long-term basis
• Come up with story ideas on their own to pitch to their editors
• Cover summer business/politics

What you will bring:

• Candidates must have completed basic college journalism/communication courses
• Professional experience through a previous internship or freelance work is essential, though students whose experience is limited to campus media also will be considered if they have a strong body of work
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
