Diocese of AllentownMarian Catholic High School, TamaquaPosition DescriptionJob Description: Night Custodian Position Type: Part-Time (20 hours per week) Schedule: Evening shifts, Monday through FridaySummary: Marian Catholic High School is seeking a dedicated and reliable Part-Time Night Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students and staff. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of working independently, and committed to upholding the standards of our school community.Key Responsibilities:Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.Ensure all areas are properly stocked with necessary supplies (soap, paper towels, etc.).Set up and take down furniture and equipment for events and activities as needed.Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Facilities Manager promptly.Follow established safety and sanitation procedures to ensure a safe environment.Assist with seasonal cleaning tasks (e.g., window washing, floor waxing).Collaborate with other custodial staff and communicate effectively with school administration.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate special events or school activities.Required Clearances:Candidates must obtain the following clearances prior to employment:Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record CheckPennsylvania Child Abuse History ClearanceFBI Criminal Background Check (or equivalent, as applicable)Proof of completion of training in child safety and mandated reportingBenefits:Competitive hourly wage.A supportive and positive work environment within a vibrant school community.Opportunity to contribute to the cleanliness and upkeep of the school facilities.Physical Demands: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability appropriate for necessary mobility to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; repetitive movements such as stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing (ladders etc.), reaching and twisting; frequent use of tools; will regularly push, pull, lift, and/or carry light to moderately heavy objects and occasionally objects over 50 pounds; requires a sense of touch, finger dexterity, and gripping with hands and fingers; ability to operate equipment.Working Conditions: Indoor and outdoor, at times required to work under inclement weather conditions; Evening work required and weekend work may be required from time to time.
