Packaging / Production Operators are responsible for operating production lines producing premium glazed nut mixes and other snack food items in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring quality standards and schedule adherence are maintained. Machine Operators work in a variety of areas such as packaging, roasting, and sanitation, while standing/walking for long periods of time (up to 12 hours). This position also requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, complete documentation completely and accurately, collect regular samples to meet quality checks, perform basic adjustments and repairs to machines, and take initiative to ensure work is done correctly and safely.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:•Perform all tasks in a safe manner, adhering to Company work rules•Follow Company's Good Manufacturing Processes at all times•Build packing boxes and/or trays for bulk product•Place product labels on pouches and shipping boxes as needed•Ensure pouches are correctly filled and sealed•Pack sealed pouches into prepped shipping boxes•Seal loaded boxes and properly stack boxes onto shipping pallets•Gather ingredients and raw materials from the warehouse, or pre-production storage area•Perform Lot Code verification•Inspect and sort raw materials for quality•Measure ingredients for roasting and mixing•Load ingredients into totes for roasting•Operate automated roasting and mixing equipment per Company SOP's to produce batched product•Set timers for ovens. Load product into ovens and monitor product to ensure proper temperature and roasting times are used•Mix product in mixing drums•Manage detailed cleaning tasks through sanitation checklist and master sanitation schedule•Confer with management and production personnel on problems and recommend changes in equipment, procedures, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and product quality•Maintain chemical usage and cleaning logs•Responsible for inventory and storing of sanitation supplies and chemicals•Perform housekeeping and cleaning duties, according to Company SSOPs•Perform other duties as assigned•Meet Company's expectations of its' Basic Beliefs SELECTION CRITERIA:Education•High School diploma or GED is preferred Experience•Prior experience working in a food manufacturing facility preferred, but not required•Able to work with and around cleaning chemicals and perform all sanitation duties•Have good attendance record and able to comply with attendance policy. Understands punctuality is key•Must possess basic computer skills•Able to work as part of a team•Ability to effectively read, comprehend, and fill in production forms accurately with dates, times, temperatures and other processing information•Ability to work safely around/with automated and semi-automated machinery•Must be able to work safely around food allergens such as tree nuts, dairy, and soy.•Able to routinely lift up to 50 poundsPosted pay rates include $2.00/hr night shift differential.2nd Shift: 8:00pm - 6:30am with 30-minute unpaid meal period. Monday through Thursday. 40 hours per week
