Night Shift Supervisor - Westfall Technik : Job Details

SUMMARY OF ROLEThe Shift Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all personnel in production and to ensure all duties and tasks are being performed efficiently and effectively during each shift. This position will ensure all job set up and workflows meet productivity requirements and provide input as needed to update planning, work instructions or system procedure.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage time off requests and unexpected no-show situations
• Document and communicate situations when disciplinary action is necessary (tardiness, time theft, safety violations etc.)
• Set performance goals for individual employees and teams each shift
• Ensure goals are met through collection of daily production planning and production results
• Participate in weekly management meetings to discuss goals, progress, and any issues in need of resolution
• Maintain a work environment that encourages compliance with safety laws and adhere to the Company's quality policy and objectives
• Assist other team members with preventative maintenance, setup and process as required
• Act as an advocate for Continuous Improvement, making suggestions on how to improve processes through resource allocations
• Responsible for all floor activities when Managers are not on duty
• Provide feedback to managers on employee performance and training needs
• Act as a mentor, coach, and trainer for new and existing team members
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Associate Degree or Technical Degree preferred
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Advanced problem solving and analytical skills
• Drive to succeed, motivation and positive attitude
• Ability to meet deadlines and ensure goals are achieved
• Detail orientated
• Computer proficiency and ability to learn new systems
• Strong leadership skills with experience directing a team
• High degree of professionalism

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to climb ladders
• Must be able to lift 55-60 lbs. at continuous intervals throughout the day
• Must be able to pull finished products and 350 lbs. gaylords of material
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to operate necessary equipment to do the job
• Requires frequent bending, squatting and twisting motions

WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment is usually in an indoor concrete floored precision machining shop. General noise level can fluctuate from medium to high on a constant basis. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
