Our Box Truck/ Van Delivery Drivers start at $20.00 an hour. We are looking for Box Truck /Van Delivery Drivers who relish the chance to push their potential, grow and reap the rewards of joining the US FOODS family.

Schedule: Monday - Friday (rotating Saturdays) from 6:00 AM until delivery completion

Main Ingredients of the Job

As a US FOODS Box Truck/ VAN DRIVER you will be critical to the US FOODS team and one of the important faces of our organization. As a Van Driver, you will have an impact on our customers by delivering our meats, produce, frozen goods, groceries, dry goods, equipment, and supplies to their drop-off sites. Your efforts are the foundation that defines US FOODS success based on our pillars of cultural beliefs, work ethic, collaborative spirit, and service.

  • Lift 80+ lbs on a consistent basis.

  • Load and unload Van for multi-stop deliveries.

  • Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles.

  • Use a hand truck and load bar.

  • Accurately record delivery information including operating a hand scanner and all company required documentation.

  • Responsible for the proper documentation and disposition for any return product.

  • Communicate delivery- customer issues to proper authority (i.e., Customer Service, Territory Manager, Transportation Supervisor, etc.).

  • Deliver the product to each of the designated stops using the stop sequence provided for the day.

  • Unload product safely and stage product in the space(s) designated by customer.

  • Check the invoice for complete delivery. Process paperwork and damaged merchandise if any.

  • Collect payments if necessary.

  • Monitor refrigeration system on van consistently for safety; follow all safe food handling procedures

  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections such as monitoring fluid levels, tires, windshield wash and replenishing fuel.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the table

Education/Training:?

  • the High School Education or GED preferred

Related Experience/Requirements:???

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Valid drivers license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required.

  • No more than 2 convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations, no DUI convictions in the past 3 years, no drivers license suspensions in the past 3 years.

  • 1-year multi-stop delivery experience preferred or 6-month local delivery experience and/or foodservice industry experience.

  • Hand cart delivery experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations

  • Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).

  • Must pass pre-employment testing (including items such as Drug Screen & Background Check)

  • Have knowledge of area and/or map reading abilities.

  • Use safe lifting and loading techniques

  • Great interpersonal/customer service skills

  • Availability to work on weekends and Holidays

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected compensation for this role is between $20 per hour. and $25 per hour.
