Volt is immediately hiring for Non-Destructive Assay Operator in Pittsburg, PA. As a Non-Destructive Assay Operator you will: • Carry out supervisory responsibilities of NDA operations in accordance with on-site customer policies, PSC policies, and applicable laws • Operate NDA radiation detection and measurement instruments • Collect and generate radiological assay data and test results • Perform daily QC checks on the assigned NDA instrument (s) • Develop charts, schedules and forms using spreadsheet software • Assemble Test Matrices by mixing materials and placing source tubes according to physics specifications to simulate waste in various containers. • Perform Independent Technical Review (ITR) of NDA data produced by the NDA Analyst • Perform Instrument calibration, validation, testing and qualification duties as prescribed • Provide first response to instrument problems, upset conditions • Assist Engineers in troubleshooting, as required and perform minor repairs • Required to relay important project-related information to PSC management in regard to customer satisfaction and concerns • Perform other duties as assigned and/or required. This is a full time, Direct Hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have: • High school Diploma or GED and 2+ years' experience in the NDA field (NDA radiation detection) • Prefer experience with the DOE, nuclear material operations. • Computer literacy skills are required to include a working knowledge of MS Office software. • Proficiency with spreadsheet software • Effective written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work with minimal supervision, to begin projects independently (or as assigned), and to bring projects (or assignments) to satisfactory conclusion on a timely basis.
