Title: Nondestructive Testing Engineer

Location: Decatur, IL (Onsite)

Employment Type: Fulltime Permanent with AXISCADES.

Position Overview

As a Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Engineer, you will be integral to the NDE/metallurgical laboratory inspection team, ensuring the quality of mining and construction equipment and components. Your role involves hands-on support in industrial fabrication production and processes, including various inspection methods like Ultrasonic Testing, Phased Array UT, Radiography, Visual Testing of welds, and Magnetic Particle inspection. You will also engage in creating and maintaining inspection standards, procedures, and quality metrics, and monitoring audit data integrity in an ISO certified environment. The role requires up to 25% travel for inspection responsibilities and supplier audits.

Job Responsibilities

Part identification and material management.

Print interpretation and nondestructive evaluation.

Documentation and effective communication.

Collaborate with laboratory, internal quality engineers, and external suppliers.

Education & Experience Required

Associate of Applied Science in Nondestructive Testing Technology or equivalent certifications.

AWS CWI Certification (preferred)

3+ years of previous experience (preferred).

Technical Skills Required

UT – Ultrasonic Testing

UTPA – Ultrasonic Testing Phased Array

RT – Radiography Testing

VT – Visual Testing/Inspection of welds

MT – Magnetic Particle Testing/Inspection

Technical Skills Desired

Advanced proficiency in UT, UTPA, RT, VT, and MT.

Soft Skills

Decision Making & Critical Thinking

Effective Communication

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and various computer programs managed by customer.
