For nearly 40 years, Counseling In Schools has created and fostered relationships with local schools, homeless shelters, and communities to enable New York City's children to thrive – academically, socially, and emotionally. Our expert team includes licensed mental health and youth development professionals who fully integrate into the community, providing programs that equip children, families, teachers, and administrators with the right tools for preventing and coping with the challenges they face. Counseling In Schools is currently seeking a Nonprofit Fundraising Manager. The Nonprofit Fundraising Manager will play a pivotal role in driving donations, annual campaigns, and overall fundraising efforts. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to contribute to our mission of providing essential counseling and support services to students in the New York City schools. This is a Hybrid position based in New York City.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research potential donors, foundations, and other development opportunities.
  • Represent the organization's mission to donors, potential donors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Develop a comprehensive annual campaign calendar that strategically facilitates the process of building strong connections among diverse cohorts.
  • Collaborate and Coordinate all campaign activities with 3rd party Public Relations and Fundraising consultants
  • Seek donations from generous donors contributing between $1,000 and $9,999, while expertly managing our portfolio of donors to ensure sustained financial support for Counseling In Schools (CIS).
  • Participate in the activation of our Advisory Council to passionately champion the work of Counseling In Schools.
  • Manage donor correspondence, including receipt, acknowledgements, and tributes— collaborating with fundraisers and the executive office to document acknowledgement for large gifts.
  • Cultivate positive relations with donors and prospects by addressing inquiries, responding to special donor requests and requests for additional information.
  • Maintain content and data for direct mail and digital marketing and campaign and project-specific solicitation materials and activations.
  • Manage fundraising pages and forms, as well as presentation and donor experience across digital and publications.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as nonprofit management, business administration, communications, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years demonstrated experience in fundraising, community engagement, relationship-building, or a related field would be advantageous.
  • Experience in managing databases and using fundraising software - familiarity with Virtuous and Classy a plus.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong understanding of public education, social skill development and healthy emotional development, along with the organization's values and the community connections that support them.
  • Experience with soliciting funds from Individuals, corporations and foundations.
  • Passion for philanthropy, a keen understanding of donor motivations, and a proven track record in successful fundraising efforts would be highly valued in this position.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM, and GSuite

Compensation: Salary $75,000 - $85,000 commensurate with education and experience
