The Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance (TVNPA) fosters collaboration and provides essential resources to strengthen the impact of nonprofit organizations in the Tri-Valley region. Through networking, education, advocacy, and innovative programming, TVNPA empowers nonprofit leaders and organizations to create meaningful, sustainable change in their communities. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Program Director to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of key programs and initiatives that align with TVNPA's mission to strengthen the nonprofit sector and advocate for community-driven solutions.

Position Overview:

The Program Director will be responsible for managing and growing TVNPA's diverse portfolio of programs, including monthly educational workshops, the Anti-Poverty Collaborative (APC), community outreach initiatives, and data collection efforts to measure impact. The role also involves supporting nonprofit advocacy and policy initiatives to address systemic challenges faced by organizations and the communities they serve. This position requires a dynamic individual who excels in program development, stakeholder collaboration, and nonprofit advocacy. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Tri-Valley community and nonprofit ecosystem, strong project management skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders.

This is an exempt position based on an estimated 30 hour work week with an annual salary range of $75,000-$78,000.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development & Management:

  • Plan, execute, and evaluate monthly educational workshops and events designed to meet the needs of nonprofit professionals and leaders.
  • Organize and manage two annual Anti-Poverty Collaborative (APC) programs, with a focus on advocacy, policy, and innovative solutions to address poverty in the Tri-Valley.
  • Represent TVNPA at community events and collaborate with local organizations to enhance visibility and impact.
  • Advocacy & Policy:

  • Support nonprofit advocacy efforts by staying informed about local, state, and federal policy changes that impact the nonprofit sector.
  • Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to advance systemic change through advocacy and policy initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with nonprofit organizations, community leaders, and business partners.
  • Coordinate and engage volunteers, board members, and committees to deliver high-quality programs.
  • Data Collection & Reporting:

  • Track and evaluate program outcomes, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for funders, stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Contribute to additional organizational projects and initiatives as needed to support TVNPA's mission.
  • Skills & Qualifications

    Required:

  • Knowledge of the Tri-Valley Community: Familiarity with the region's nonprofit landscape, community needs, and key stakeholders.
  • Nonprofit Advocacy & Policy: Experience or strong interest in nonprofit advocacy, policy work, or systemic change initiatives.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft reports, presentations, and program materials.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including experience with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to lead projects and coordinate teams.
  • Preferred:

  • Experience in event planning, program development, or community engagement.
  • Familiarity with data collection, program evaluation, and reporting processes.
  • Passion for nonprofit work and strengthening the impact of organizations in the Tri-Valley region.
  • The position includes the following benefits:

    • Benefit Stipend: $4,800 annually, paid as $185 per paycheck.
    • Paid Time Off: Three weeks of vacation per year, plus sick leave.
    • Holiday Closures: 11 paid holidays annually, plus a week-long closure between Christmas and New Year's.
