Job Description The North Coast Service Area covers four hospitals in beautiful Northern California. Comprised of a 25-bed critical access hospital and offering a range of services in Fort Bragg. Adventist Health Ukiah Valley has been deeply connected to the community we serve since 1956. We are comprised of a 50-bed acute care medical center, level IV trauma center, level II intensive care nursery services, extensive physical rehabilitation program, outpatient surgery and diagnostic center and advanced wound care center. Nestled in the Gateway to the Redwoods, Adventist Health Howard Memorial takes pride in its legacy of providing exceptional, high-quality care since 1928. Comprised of a state-of-the-art 74,000 square foot facility, with four surgery suites, an on-site farm-to-fork restaurant and 25 beautiful private rooms designed with healing and comfort in mind. We are comprised of a 25-bed critical access hospital and provide primary and specialty care services at clinics throughout the area to best serve our community. Job Summary: Leads all day-to-day operations of the region's hospitals, clinics and outpatient services, ensuring that quality patient care and an excellent experience is provided and that the financial integrity of the hospital is maintained. Creates and inspires an environment and culture that enables the region to fulfill its mission through its engaged workforce by meeting or exceeding goals, conveying the Adventist Health mission to all , holding self and others accountable for performance, motivating improved performance, recognizing and rewarding performance, and taking responsibility for the operation of measurement, assessment and improvement of the region's performance. Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Master's Degree in business administration, healthcare administration or related healthcare field: Preferred
  • Ten years' related experience: Preferred
  • Five years senior management experience within the healthcare field: Required
  • Hospital experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
  • Assumes overall accountability for operations; budget development, analysis and oversight; marketing including volume growth/program development; workforce management; expense control; policy and procedure development and implementation, and process development to facilitate regulatory compliance. Recommends and oversees capital improvements.
  • Develops long-range and short-term strategic plans, governance structure and objectives. Assures compliance with applicable law and regulations both on the State and Federal level, including prompt review and action on reports and recommendations of authorized planning, regulatory and inspecting agencies consistent with the governing body policy.
  • Assumes responsibility for the implementation of organized management and administrative functions including the establishment of clear lines of responsibility and accountability within departments and between department heads and administrative staff. Assures effective communication mechanisms between and among hospital/clinic departments, services, the medical staff, administration and governing body.
  • Promotes the development of services based on the identified needs of the patient population. Generates community involvement through auxiliary, volunteer, and staff programs, speaks before community and business groups about healthcare issues and the organizations programs to meet community healthcare needs and promote health awareness in the community.
  • Participates in industry peer groups and corporate meetings to stay informed on new regulations and related issues.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
