Northwell Health's Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a General Neurosurgeon to join our team at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, NY. The ideal candidate will be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neurological Surgery and must meet requirements for medical licensure in New York State. To meet the neurosurgical needs of Northwell Health's 21-hospital system, the Department of Neurosurgery has developed a robust full-time presence in its Eastern, Central, and Western Region hospitals including North Shore University Hospital, LIJ Medical Center, Lenox Hill Hospital, Huntington Hospital, South Shore University Hospital, Cohen Children's Hospital, and Staten Island University Hospital. To accomplish this most efficiently, Northwell Health has developed an advanced Tele-Neuro ICU service that is operated 24/7 and a Neuro Center categorization system that helps to refer physicians to properly triage patients.

Founded in 1951 as Central Suffolk Hospital, Peconic Bay Medical Center is the largest hospital in Eastern Suffolk County, and the Eastern Hub of Northwell Health, the largest healthcare organization in New York State. As a non-for-profit 144-bed community hospital, we serve as the primary resource for advanced healthcare services for the 250,000+ residents of the Riverhead area, Eastern Central Suffolk County, and Long Island's North Fork.
