Position Description:
An APP for Cardiology - Electrophysiology specialty refers to an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), like a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), who has undergone specialized training in Cardiac Electrophysiology; meaning they focus on diagnosing and treating heart rhythm irregularities (arrhythmias) with expertise in procedures like ablation therapy and device management.
Key points about an Electrophysiology APP:
They complete additional training beyond their standard NP or PA curriculum to gain in-depth knowledge of cardiac electrical systems and arrhythmia management.
They can perform patient evaluations, interpret complex ECGs, manage medications for arrhythmias, and assist with invasive procedures like ablation under the supervision of a cardiologist specializing in electrophysiology.
They may be involved in the management of implantable cardiac devices like pacemakers and defibrillators, including follow-up appointments and adjustments
Requirements:
Education/Certification/Licensure
Current NY State certification/registration as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant.
Current Basic Life Support Certification.
Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations and establish a leadership role in an emergency.
Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, issues and approaches in area of expertise.
Demonstrated ability to maintain quality, safety and/or infection control standards.
Demonstrated knowledge of health promotion, health risk identification, and patient education principles and techniques.
Pay Range: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 DOE
