Employment TypeFull timeShiftDescription:The acute-care Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner provides direct care functions including, but not limited to history and physical exams, daily rounds, ordering medications and lab testing, discharge or home care planning as appropriate, and education of the patient and family. Knowledge necessary to perform these functions include: skills in evaluating laboratory data, EKG and CXR interpretation; skills in assessing, planning and implementing a plan of care for specific patients and families, while collaborating with nursing staff, physicians and ancillary staff, practice protocols as designated in agreement with supervising/collaborating physician.Mission Statement

Education, Training, Experience, Certification And Licensure
  • Nurse Practitioner: Current New York State RN license; experience in pertinent areas of nursing practice; graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner program; Master's Degree in Nursing preferred; National certification as Nurse Practitioner or active pursuit within one year.
  • Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program, Master's Degree preferred; National certification as Physician Assistant or eligible; current New York State PA license or eligible.

  • Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise as applicable, including but not limited to:
  • Acute Care Medicine
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Family/Primary Care Medicine
  • Critical Care Medicine

Physical Demands
  • Medium work: must be able to lift 25 pounds frequently; occasionally lifting maximum of 50 pounds. Will require ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat and reach.
