TheNuclear Medicine CT Technologistwillperform a full range of molecular imaging procedures, including PET/CT procedures and Diagnostic CT procedures performed in the PET/CT suite. Primary Duties:
Performs full range of molecular imaging procedures in the department and designated ancillary areas to include venipuncture, the injection of radiopharmaceuticals, and non-narcotic medication required for effective diagnostic imaging and scanning.Must adhere to the direction, policy and procedures as defined by the physician authorized user.
Ensureradiation safety precautions are followed. Adheres to the policies and procedures that apply to the performance of obtaining molecular imaging studies, including performing correct, exam, including laterality, on correct patient at the timerequested. Provides basic information to patients, families and/or nursing staff about procedures to be performed and can answer questions if asked.
Assists the Nuclear Medicine and Radiology Physicians in performing special procedures.Assistswith the upkeep of Molecular Imaging equipment, adheres to all related safety requirements, reports need for equipment repairs and keeps assigned room(s) in the department clean andstocked.Participates in orientation and other opportunities for learning as delegated for the department, other Hospital staff and students.
Ensurestimelycompletion of all exams through tracking, scanning and other technicalworkflowas related to Radiology Information System (RIS, Enterprise Radiology Solutions (ERS), Enterprise Electronic Record (EMR) and Nuclear Medicine and CT Specific Information Systems. Exemplifies SPIRIT values, activelyparticipatesin Patient Safety Standards and tasks.
Coordinates and collaborates with Technical Aides to ensure efficient room turnover.Coordinates,communicates, andcollaborates with Patient Financial Associates that register radiology exams to minimize delays and potential safety issues for the outpatient population.
Qualifications:
Graduateof an AMA approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
Demonstrated competency in didactic coursework and specified list of clinical procedures by completing competency requirementsestablishedfor the discipline in which they are seeking certification and registration.
Skills in operating molecular imaging and CT equipment.
ARRTorHealth Services\NMTCB - Nuclear Medicine TechorASCP - American Society of Clinical Pathologist.
Certified in one of the following: (ARRT) CT or NMTCB (CT) within 1 Year.
1-2 years Hospital based experience preferred.
