Nuclear Medicine Supervisor

The Nuclear Medicine Supervisor coordinates the operation of the nuclear medicine division in a clinical setting. This role ensures the efficient and safe delivery of high-quality patient care and offers leadership and guidance to a team of nuclear medicine technologist.

Role and Responsibilities:

* Conducts diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures

* Follows all state regulations, and perform and maintain department QA procedures and documentation.

* Oversees and ensures compliance with the Radiation Safety Program and ALARA standards for the nuclear medicine department.

* Adheres strictly to radiation safety protocols.

* Ensures efficient workflow within the department

* Exhibits strong leadership skills and supervises staff in delivering patient care.

* Optimizes imaging devices to guarantee high-quality images.

* Ensures prompt submission of all high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correctly marked and patient data/history).

* Provides feedback on image quality.

* Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and any other areas in the department.

* Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.

* Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

* Maintain compassionate patient care, comfort and safety, while ensuring patient confidentiality

* Coordinates with other departments on issues.

* Oversees staff training, hiring, and evaluations.

* Recommends and manages equipment needs.

* Maintains all credentials and CE credits essential to position.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

* Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist

* Licensure: Must be ARRT(N) or CNMT certified

* New York State Department of Health License or eligible.

* Graduation from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology

Additional Skills and Experience:

* Problem solving ability and attention to detail is preferred

* Good written and oral communication skills preferred.

* Requires ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely and adjust to changes in work volumes.

Physical Requirements:

* Must be able to push, pull, bend, safely transfer patients and ambulate without assistance.
