Status: Per Diem Shift: VARIED SHIFT Department: Emergency Department Position Summary Summary: The Student Nurse Intern (SNI) is a trained member of the Nursing Department who performs specific tasks under the direction/supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) preceptor. The SNI understands and complies with the Philosophy, Standards, Objectives and Policies of the Department as well as their respective scope of practice. Qualifications Responsibilities: Education Required •Must complete in-house orientation program •Successful completion of 2 semesters (minimally) of hospital-based clinical practicum while enrolled in an accredited nursing program. •Completion of SNE Orientation and Program OR Designated Support Staff Orientation. Experience And Skills •Excellent interpersonal skills •Speaks, reads and writes English License/Certifications •CPI •BLS required for Emergency Department Student Interns only Working Conditions Other information: Working Conditions •Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn •Frequent, prolonged standing/walking. •Lifts, positions and/or transfers patients/equipment.
