Nurse (Contract Position)
Minimum requirements: - Registered Nurse within the scope of O.C.GA Practice Acts
- Preferred Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in mental health
Primary job responsibilities are: - Provide nursing assessment to observe, monitor, educate and care for the physical, nutritional and psychological issues, problems or crises manifested in the course of the clients' treatment.
- Educating the client about medical, nutritional and other health issues related to the individual's mental health or substance related issues.
- Assess and monitor client's medical and other health issues that are either directly related to the mental health or substance related disorder, or to the treatment of the disorder.
- Educating the client's family/caregiver about medical, nutritional and other health issues related to the individual's mental health or substance related issues.
- Educating the client's family/caregiver on medications and potential medication side effects.
- Utilize personal safety plan for managing emotions and interactions with staff and clients.
- Provide training for self-administration of medication.
- Maintain and utilize knowledge and skills regarding current research trends in best/evidence-based practices for psychiatric nursing and medication management.
- Stay updated on all contracting and accrediting requirements.
- Share information with the treatment team and be considered a part of the treatment team.
- Provide the number of billable hours assigned to the position.
- Ensure documentation meets requirements of Medicaid, DBHDD, and other CMO audits.
- Utilize agency's designated client services software for entering service notes and submitting billables in required timeframes.
