A healthcare organization in New Jersey is seeking a Nurse Manager, Med Surg to join their compassionate and dedicated team. Responsibilities:
The Nurse Manager, Med Surg will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with the Director of Nursing to develop unit goals and evaluating progress toward those goals
- Managing staffing plans, schedules, and ensuring adequate coverage while maintaining staffing mix and compliance
- Hiring, supervising, and evaluating staff, conducting annual performance appraisals, and initiating disciplinary actions as needed
- Ensuring safe and professional patient care by enforcing compliance with professional standards and identifying clinical and educational needs of staff
- Reviewing and implementing policies and procedures to align with regulatory requirements and organizational standards
- Overseeing quality assurance and quality improvement programs to address patient care issues and ensure follow-up actions are implemented
- Assisting in the development and monitoring of the annual budget, ensuring efficient and cost-effective resource allocation
- Providing information for reports on utilization, credentialing, and scheduling to meet regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master's degree preferred
- Current NJ licensure as a Registered Nurse
- 5+ years of clinical med surg experience
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support certifications
- Knowledge of JCAHO, CMS, OSHA, and other regulatory guidelines
Desired Skills:
- AORN Certification and IV Certification
- Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement principles
- Ability to mentor and develop staff effectively
