Job DescriptionMarketing StatementElmhurst Hospital Center (EHC) is the major tertiary care provider in the borough of Queens. The hospital is comprised of 545 beds and is a Level I Trauma Center, an Emergency Heart Care Station and a 911 Receiving Hospital. Last year, EHC received an astounding 664,199 ambulatory care visits. Operating one of the busiest ERs in New York City, EHC received 178,437 Emergency Room visits last year and had half of all deliveries in the region, with 4,300 babies.We have one of the busiest divisions of Neonatology and Newborn services in the NYC public hospitals system with over 2600 newborn births and over 500 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) admissions in 2023. Our busy level 3 NICU cares for neonates born at all gestational ages and with a broad variety of medical conditions. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and has a Pediatric Residency training program. Fellows in Neonatology from the Mount Sinai Hospital also rotate through our NICU.Job DescriptionUnder general supervision, serves as a licensed, independent practitioner responsible for planning, coordinating, delivering and managing comprehensive health care services in a health care setting. Ensures patient and family centered quality care to improve outcomes and patient experience, in accordance with applicable NYC Health + Hospitals policies and procedures, state and federal rules and regulations and nursing standards of care.Minimum Qualifications
- A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse issued by the New York State Department of Education (NYSED); and
- Current certificate as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the NYSED; and
- Must have Acute Care Certification
- Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
